DIY APOKRIES MASK

A custom of Naousa, is that of the ‘Janissaries and Boules’ (Γενίτσαροι και Μπούλες). They are men who wander around the streets dancing and wearing masks called ‘πρόσωποι’ which means faces. In these Greek carnival costumes, the Janissaries wear fustanella (φουστανέλα) skirts and the Boules are men dressed as women.

HOW TO DIY APOKRIES MASK

1. Pop-out the DIY Apokries Mask from the back of the 'Greek Orthodox Easter Activity Book'.

2. Then pop-out the eyes and mouth

3. Decorate the mask

4. Using craft glue stick the popsicle stick to the back of the mask and allow to dry.
